I’ve been in Learning and Development my whole career. At a recent mentoring event I attended I found myself getting moved by the stories of people’s journeys and I was reminded of what I love about this profession – creating space for people to flourish.
In terms of space, I don’t mind if it’s face to face, self directed, AR/VR, collaborative, webinar, eLearning, MOOC, podcast, ESN or book.
There is no one best way.
Content, context, facilitator, learner experience, environment, network – there are many factors that will determine what the best solution is.
What I’m interested in is the process of determining and creating solutions – which leads me to Divergent Learning – a place to apply the principles of divergent thinking (“Divergent thinking is a thought process or method used to generate creative ideas by exploring many possible solutions.”) to Learning and Development.
